~ How to co-create experiments with your horses that offer your clients new choices outside of the old patterns
~ Ways to be helpful when either you or your client stops the process, breaks the contact, or gets in the head!
Duey & Joan will be facilitating at the
Joan Rieger, MA, LPC is a licensed psychotherapist with her Masters in Counseling from Naropa University. She is currently in private practice in Lafayette, CO and also the Clinical Supervisor at the Medicine Horse Program in Boulder, CO. She offers both psychotherapy and Gestalt Equine Assisted Psychotherapy™ for individuals, couples, and families. She specializes in trauma & abuse, relationship issues, depression & anxiety, grief, and addictive behaviors. Joan is certified as a Gestalt therapist from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies, and has completed Level 1 trainings in EAGALA, Equine Facilitated Learning & Coaching, and Somatic Experiencing.
Duey Freeman, MA, LPC, is the founder of Equine Journey, co-founder of the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies, co-director of the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies and is a prominent faculty member in the the MA Transpersonal Counseling Program at Naropa University. As a licensed psychotherapist, teacher, and consultant, Duey has extensive training and experience in gestalt therapy, equine therapy, family therapy, bioenergetIcs and counseling with children and adolescents. In 1982, Duey joined and revived the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies and presents around the country in the area of Gestalt Therapy and Development. His therapeutic approach is primarily relationally based.
Joan and Duey co-founded the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies (GEIR) which combines the passion for horses and Gestalt therapy in a Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy (GEP)™ training program. They travel nationally and internationally to teach this style of therapy.
